Wix, and builders like Squarespace, let you pick a template, drag your content into place and publish the same day for a monthly subscription. If you have a hobby project, a one-page holding site or a very simple business with no plans to grow online, that is a perfectly sensible choice and you should not feel you need more.
A studio build is different in three ways. Someone else does the work, the design is drawn around your business rather than a template, and the finished site is built with speed and search in mind from the first line of code. You also own it outright, which matters more than most people expect when they later want to move.

If your site is a simple online business card and money is tight, Wix will do the job and you should use it without guilt. If the site needs to bring in customers, a fixed-price build from £500 is not much more over a couple of years, and you end up with something faster that is genuinely yours.

Can I move my site away from Wix later?
Not in the usual sense. Wix does not let you export the site to run elsewhere, so moving means rebuilding. You can keep your domain and copy your text and images across.
Is a WebProud site more expensive than Wix over time?
Up front, yes. Over a few years the gap narrows, because a Wix subscription continues for as long as the site exists while our hosting and care starts from £20 a month and is optional.
Can I still edit my own site if WebProud builds it?
Yes. Standard and Premium builds come with an editor and we hand over training. Starter sites are hand-built and we make small changes for you.
